This is one of the Japanese famous idioms consisting of four kanji characters. The meaning is “Treasure every encounter and meeting for it will never recur”. This is from a concept of Japanese tea ceremony. The reading order of each character is upper right, lower right, upper left, lower left. “一” represents one, “期” represents opportunity, and “會” represents meeting.
