Goethe’s words on traveling “Man reist ja nicht, um anzukommen, sondern um zu reisen”, meaning that one does not travel to arrive, but to travel. I created this work for “Design Festa”, one of the major art & craft events in Tokyo. His phrase was translated into Japanese.

The reason why I chose Goethe’s words was because I had a chance to go to Frankfurt just before the exhibition. I visited Goethe’s birthplace GOETHE HOUSE there and became interested in his works.
