Sample Use

Case1

Logo design element for “Success 4”, Japan’s first “customer success” business conference

Keigetsu used the calligraphic work “道” as one element of the logo for Success 4, a business conference held in Tokyo. The conference was aimed at corporate executives and business managers with the theme of “customer success” updates. Customer success is one of the most important methods required for companies to survive, as consumer expectations, preferences and behaviors change with digitalization in recent years. It is still a new concept in Japan.

The word “道” means “the way (to do), a road or path”. It also has the meaning of reason, universal, and teaching. The conference organizer was one of the foremost leaders in the field of customer success in Japan, and she chose this kanji character as her motif to help her achieve this success. The shape, thickness, momentum of the lines, and the atmosphere of the character were determined after several meetings with her.

Case2

Title design for a theater performance ”The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter”

Below is the title of ”The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter”, a puppet performance by a theater company in Tokyo. The title design was a collaboration between Keigetsu and a water color artist. This was used as a title for the performance, a poster and a flyer in kanji and hiragana.

”The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter”, also known as ”The Tale of Princess Kaguya”, is a fictional Japanese story originally written in the early Heian period (794-1185) . The story revolves around a young girl, Princess Kaguya, who was found by an old man and his wife in a shining bamboo stalk and raised by them. The year of publication and author are unknown, but the story is well-known and is still familiar to the Japanese people today.
